Overview:

It is for kids 6 to 12 years of age. Madhubani Painting is one of the most famous art of Bihar mostly practiced in Mithila region and some parts of Bihar & now becoming famous worldwide. This unique style of art was used by the women to decorate their house walls and doors in order to seek God's blessing in the form of prosperity and peace. Madhubani accurately means “Forests of Honey”. Madhubani paintings are characterised by figures that are prominently outlined, like bulging fish-like eyes and pointed noses. The themes of Madhubani paintings usually include natural elements like fish, birds, animals, turtle, sun, moon, bamboo trees and flowers, like a lotus. This traditional Indian art form characterized by love for nature and devotion for Hindu deities.

The artist cum teacher is a very experienced person. Her name is Shilpa Deepak. Has been teaching folk art for last few years. She lives in NC, USA.

Materials:

Drawing pad/ white paper, hb black pencil, ruler, eraser, marker pens. 
OPTIONAL(Acrylics, brushes, color palette)

Process(3 month course):
1. History

2. Borders

3. Mithila style animals

4. Flora and Fauna

5. Color

End of the course, students will develop ability to execute their own composition and create their masterpiece.

There will be 4 sessions in a month. Keep enrolling each month to continue learning or enroll for straight 3 months.
