Kusum Bhandari is a self-taught artist. Has spent close to 14 years in advertising. Along the way, she decided to pursue her creative ambition and started painting while working as a freelance creative consultant. Her art is imaginative reality.
She uses colours to express emotions and brush strokes to recount life experiences. Her paintings are a reflection of the way she sees people, relationships and society. For a painter, daily life is expressed in the brilliant hues of art. Her paintings are a vivid observation of things around her, a colourful embodiment of emotions within her and a creative expression of the mundane. She holds on to an emotion or a concept and layer it with a bit of imagination to express it on her canvas. She likes to experiment with different styles, techniques and materials in each piece of art that she creates.” While most of her paintings explore the theme of relationships, each of her work is distinctive in style. Her abstract work is purely experimental and her colour palette is bold and vibrant.
